A cloned dog will have the exact same DNA as the original dog. Dog cloning is simply like creating a twin born later in time! And so the clone and original dog will therefore share all the same characteristics that are genetically founded.

In terms of the appearance of colour genetics in the cloned dog, there are some markings that can be slightly changed by environmental factors. Such as embryo temperature at the point of conception.

When undertaking dog cloning with dogs that are a solid colour, the same appearance can be expected. And for dogs of any colour, their clones will always be the closest possible replica of the original dog, even if small differences in appearance of some markings are seen on the cloned dog, as they share exactly the same DNA as the original!
