About Gemini Genetics

Gemini Genetics is the UK’s first dedicated domestic animal genetic preservation company, established in 2018 and partnered with world leading pet cloning company, ViaGen Pets & Equine.

We are unique in offering regenerative genetic banking. A specialised method of preserving animal genetic material that not only preserves DNA integrity, but also its ability to regenerate, so permitting animal cloning and other regenerative technologies!

We endeavour to provide our clients with a kind and compassionate service, that assists during one of the most difficult times in life and to provide the highest standard of genetic preservation and pet cloning, to help re-create the human-animal bond for many more years of happy memories and times together.

Together with ViaGen Pets, we work towards their mission of being “world leaders in cloning the animals we love”.

Our Centre

Based in the West Midlands, we share our premises with our sister and founding company, Stallion AI Services.

Our facilities include;

  • a dedicated and state of the art laboratory, specifically designed for genetic preservation and cell culture
  • secure and alarmed liquid nitrogen containers to ensure safe storage of your pets’ genetic material
  • an advanced labelling and database system for accurate and secure record keeping and identification of your pets preserved samples
  • specialised scientists to safely preserve your pets’ valuable genetic samples

Our Team

We are a small but diverse company, that not only facilitates the preservation and recreation of much-loved pets and animals, but also assists with endangered species preservation and conservation of the UK’s rare and endangered livestock and equine breeds!

Lucy Morgan (BSc Hons)

Lucy Morgan is Manager of Gemini Genetics. Present since the inception of Gemini Genetics in 2018, Lucy has played a pivotal role in the development of the company and the establishment of UK based pet & equine genetic preservation via skin. Lucy specialises in the cryopreservation of animal biological samples, for use in breeding programs and for animal regeneration.

Lucy is also a devoted animal owner, with horses, sheep and a much loved and very special cat called Hector! Being a pet owner, Lucy fully understands the impact of losing a treasured animal who is your soul mate, family member and utter best friend in life. Combined with specialist scientific expertise, this means that Gemini Genetics is fully equipped to support and facilitate pet owners in their desire for pet genetic preservation and cloning.

Lydia Keeping and Gem

Laboratory Technician,
Lydia Keeping (BSc Hons)

Lydia Keeping is a laboratory technician for Gemini Genetics. Graduating from her degree in Bioveterinay Science at Harper Adams University in 2023, Lydia started at Gemini Genetics in February 2024. Lydia plays a large role in sample processing and data handling and is keen to broaden her knowledge of cryopreservation techniques and the latest technologies in the field.

As an owner of her beloved horse and two cats, as well as being a qualified bereavement counsellor, Lydia understands the ways in which special animals shape our lives and how the loss of a pet impacts us. Lydia also has a specific interest in the livestock sector, supporting the UK National Livestock Biobank in cryopreserving declining UK native livestock breeds.

Megan Groves Staff

Laboratory Technician,
Megan Groves (BSc Hons)

Megan Groves is a laboratory technician at Gemini Genetics. She is a Biomedical Genetics student at Newcastle University and has been working at Gemini Genetics since August 2024. Her work involves sample processing, data handling, client communications and social media marketing.

Megan is very passionate about endangered wildlife conservation and enjoys working alongside our sister charity Nature’s SAFE to cryopreserve samples from hundreds of endangered species.
